Unikat
Presented during Design Monat in Graz 2015.
Unikat features a collection of works that confront the topic of the disappearing boundary between art and design. It attempts to question preconceptions about the two disciplines and re-define classifications.
Designed especially for UNIKAT, the Gradient Shelf is an ironical take on the theme of uniqueness: made of printed wood, it is designed to be cut in situ to fit the height of the room. In an aim to rediscover the guiding principles of Venustas, Firmatas and Utilitas, first established by Vitruvius, we aimed to build a shelf like an architecture with color as the defining element.
